United Kingdom at Sea (Red Ensign) flag 35 x 55" vintage

Civil ensign of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, used while "at sea", salvaged from an oceangoing ship.  The "Red Ensign" flag (aka "Red Duster") would have been the vessel's "flag of convenience" or "courtesy flag" and was flown by a merchant or passenger vessel which actually called (visited) a port in the U.K., so it has been to the "homeland"! 

Natural material.  Screened.  Light patina, light soil, moderate wear on hem.  No rips or tears. Smells like a ship.

The civil ensign consists of a plain red field with the Union Jack in the canton.
