Vintage salvaged ship's international maritime signal flag, used by ships in communication.  The principal system of flags and codes is the Interational Code of Signals. 

Letter / code / radio name:  
Zulu. Meaning: "I require a tug". 

Blazon: Per saltire or, sable, gules and azure.

Natural material.  Stitched.  Heavy patina, heavy soil, heavy wear.  Smells like a ship.
Details: stains, tattering. 1 metal hardware. 

Approximately 51" x 63".

The signal flag consists of 4 equal triangles who's points meet in the center, forming a saltire: black along the hoist, yellow along the fly (top), blue along the fly end and red along the length (bottom).
