Vintage salvaged ship's international maritime signal flag, used by ships in communication.  The principal system of flags and codes is the Interational Code of Signals. 

Letter / code / radio name:  
Xray. Meaning: "Stop carrying out your intentions and watch for my signal".  

Blazon: Argent, a cross azure.

Natural material.  Stitched.  Light patina, light soil, light wear.  Smells like a ship.

The signal flag consists of a blue cross, centered on a white field.
