Vintage salvaged ship's international maritime signal flag, used by ships in communication.  The principal system of flags and codes is the Interational Code of Signals. 

Letter / code / radio name:  
Romeo. Meaning: "The way is off my ship".  

Blazon: Gules, a cross or.

Natural (stiff) material.  Screened.  Light patina, light soil, light wear.  Smells like a ship.

Approximately 36" x 46".

The signal flag consists of a centered yellow cross which divides each corner into an equal square of red.
