signal flag M (Mike) 33 1/2 x 45" vintage

Vintage salvaged ship's international maritime signal flag, used by ships in communication.  The principal system of flags and codes is the Interational Code of Signals. 

Letter / code / radio name:  
Mike. Meaning: "My vessel is stopped" OR "I have a doctor on board". 

Blazon: Azure, a saltire argent.

Natural material.  Stitched.  Light patina, light soil, light wear.  Smells like a ship.
Detail: some fraying at fly end corner.

Approximately 33 1/2" x 45".

The signal flag consists of a blue field with white saltire.
