signal flag H (Hotel) 45 x 67"

Vintage salvaged ship's international maritime signal flag, used by ships in communication.  The principal system of flags and codes is the Interational Code of Signals. 

Letter / code / radio name:  
Hotel. Meaning: "I have a pilot on board." 

Blazon: Per pale argent and gules.

Synthetic material.  Stitched.  Heavy patina, heavy soil, light wear.  Smells like a ship.
Details: grease stains.

Approximately 45" x 67".

The signal flag consists of equal sized halves of white (hoist) and red (fly end).
