Papua New Guinea flag 33 x 74" vintage

A vintage national flag of Papua New Guinea, salvaged from an oceangoing ship.  The flag would have been the vessel's "flag of convenience" or "courtesy flag" and was flown by a vessel which actually called (visited) a port in Papua New Guinea, so it has been to the "homeland"! 

Natural material.  Stitched.  Light patina, light soil, light wear.  No rips or tears. Smells like a ship.

Appx 33" x 74". 

The national flag consists of the Southern Cross near the hoist and a Raggiana bird-of-paradise is silhouetted near the fly end.
